FANTASTIC PARADE IN PHAN THIET STYLE
Phan Thiet is well-known as place having biggest mid-autumn lantern parade festival. For me, mid-autumn festival in Phan Thiet has their own charming corner beside those glamorous parades.
This project aims to brings to you how I be impressed by Phan Thiet - my hometown in mid-autumn festival.

1 – PARADE OF PRIDE: FISH BRIDGE
Be inspired by traditional lantern parade in Mid-Autumn Festival that be organized yearly in Phan Thiet, the picture #1 illustrates whales and school of smaller fish that symbol for big and small lantern in festival. In additional, whales is treated as guardian of fishermen when they go fishing offshore. Everyone believes that whales will support all ships during huge storm thank to their giant body. This belief is also showed in this picture through embrace of whale.
2 – PARADE OF HOPE: STARRY TOWN
Stilts house (Nhà chồ) is signature house that can be observed along riverbanks in Phan Thiet in 90s. Although of their poverty and struggle in life, their spiritual life always be fulfilled by festive activities, for examples mid-autumn festival, boat racing festival, etc. Their hope in life is showed by star-shape lantern, which is the most symbolic lantern and can be made by bamboo sticks, glass paper easily.
3 – PARADE OF SCENT: PARTY OF ANCHOVY
Signature fish-sauce of Phan Thiet is fermented in giant wooden barrel or clay jars in various of size. No matter how they made fish sauce, scent of this special nectar always impresses visitor at their first experience. The scent is illustrated by the scene of school of anchovy fish swimming through the jars and barrels as parade in fish-sauce town.
4 – PARADE OF LIGHT: LANTERN GARDEN
Picture illustrates lantern in dragon-fruit-shape put into gardens of dragon-fruit lighten up with thousands of bulbs in night. This scene always be the most attractive destination and impress visitors in their first time. Juicy dragon-fruit as flame inside of lanterns, symbol for desire of farmer to have a better agricultural industry in their homeland.
5 – PARADE OF STARS: WOW SHOW
Combination of past and recent tourist attraction in Phan Thiet brings unforgettable experiences to visitor and let them return to this gorgeous destination. "Fishermen Show", which is weekly contemporary show with performance of acrobats, dancers combined with arrangement of water and light, and Làng Chài Xưa - first private museum with themes about fish-sauce, are first steps in development of entertaining activities in Phan Thiet. Star-shaped lantern is arranged in picture as symbol of entertaining atmosphere.
6 – PARADE OF GORGEOUSNESS: BOAT ROUNDABOUT
Phan Thiet is hot-spot of coastal tourism region in VietNam thanks to various of sightseeing as well as new aquatic sports activities. Be inspired by Đèn kéo quân (Traditional rotary lantern) and traffic roundabout, picture #2 aims to show the expectation of sustainable development of tourist in Phan Thiet, so that able to attract foreigner as well as local visitor more.
